Carson Wen

Carson Wen

Carson Wen is Chairman of the Sancus Group of companies, which has investments in policy driven sectors such as new energy. He has practiced law for over 30 years at his own Hong Kong partnership and subsequently at leading global law firms. Mr. Wen has been named as a leading adviser on Chinese law, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets work in Who's Who of the Law, Asia Pacific Legal 500, AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers, Chambers Asia and China's Top 200. He is also named in the International Who's Who and Who's Who of the World.

Mr. Wen was a three-term Deputy to the National People's Congress of China, which is the PRC's national legislature and constitutionally the highest organ of state power, representing Hong Kong. He is also a Justice of the Peace of Hong Kong and held various public service appointments in Mainland China and Hong Kong. He was the Vice-Chairman and currently Party Affairs Advisor of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong ("DAB"), the largest political party in Hong Kong. He is also Guest Professor of the Law School of Zhongshan University (also known as Sun Yat-Sen University), which is the leading university in Southern China.

Mr. Wen is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and Chairman of its Task Force on Green Business. He is also a Director of the Pacific Basin Economic Council. He is also, inter alia, a Founding Director of the China M&A Association.

Mr. Wen was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for his contribution to economic ties between Hong Kong, Mainland China and the rest of the world.

Mr. Wen obtained his B.A. from Columbia University, where he majored in economics, and B.A. and M.A. from Balliol College, Oxford University, where he studied law and was Younger Prizeman in Law for 1976.

Ms. Joycelyn Murraine

Joycelyn Murraine

Joycelyn Murraine has over 44 years' experience in the banking sector. She joined Scotiabank in 1969, and has progressed through a series of increasingly senior position across the Bank. She was one of the first females in the Caribbean region to head a country for Canada's most International Bank. Progressive senior roles included Senior Operations Manager, Retail Banking Manager, Commercial Banking Manager and Managing Director of Scotiabank (British Virgin Islands) Limited). She was Chairman of the Board for Scotiabank (British Virgin Islands) Limited from 2005 to 2013.

Under Ms. Murraine's Management, her team achieved many Awards and recognition for Service Excellence and for achieving or surpassing company's profitability objectives; one Award was for steering her Organization to win the prestigious "Best Bank Award" in the Virgin Islands, and the Global Bank of the Year (2012) Award from the Financial Times London, The Banker Magazine.

Ms. Murraine was featured in Scotiabank's Global Magazine 2006 for her accomplishments as a dynamic leader. She was one of the Speakers at the Women of Power Symposium held in the British Virgin Islands which consisted of over 200 professional women from across the region. She served on a number of committees in the Virgin Islands such as the Financial Advisory, Team BVI, the Financial Services Business Development, IFC (Marketing), to name a few. Ms. Murraine was the President of the BVI Bank Association from 2007 until 2011. She retired from Scotiabank in 2013.

Ms. Murraine maintains active involvement in several community service organizations such as the Rotary Club, and is a board member for the Non-Profit Youth Empowerment Project (YEP).


Kenneth Morgan

Kenneth Morgan

Kenneth Morgan has worked in the BVI Financial Services sector for almost 20 years. Prior to coming to the BVI he worked in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda with major international banks, including several years as a Senior Vice President at the Bank of Butterfield, Bermuda, where he was responsible for all trust, investment and mutual fund services.

Mr. Morgan came to the BVI to act as Executive Director of Rawlinson & Hunter Limited, part of an international group of trust and accounting firms specializing in international tax and estate planning. While there he was largely responsible for all marketing efforts and travelled extensively promoting the firm and the services offered from the BVI.

Since July 2016 Mr. Morgan has established a consulting and advisory company, Pendragon Services Limited which provides administration facilities for BVI companies as well as making efforts to promote the benefits of the BVI financial services sector.

Mr. Morgan has been recently elected as Chairman of BVI Finance Limited Board of Directors. Mr. Morgan is also the current Vice Chairman of STEP BVI and is a past president of the BVI Association of Registered Agents. He has also served on a number of committees designed to support and improve the BVI financial services sector including:

Premier's Financial Services Task Force;
Marketing Advisory Committee of BVI Finance; and
Financial Services Business Development Committee.

Mr. Morgan has been a regular speaking at international business conferences and has had several articles published in specialist periodicals.

Meade Malone

Meade Malone

Meade Malone is the Managing Director of the MWM Group of Companies and has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. The MWM Group is the first multi-disciplinary group of its kind operating in the British Virgin Islands, providing a wide range of services including legal, corporate, trust, insolvency, accounting, audit, pension administration, wealth management and real estate services.

Prior thereto, he was the Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in the British Virgin Islands with responsibility for the firm's corporate, audit, insolvency and consulting practices. He has also held the positions of Deputy Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Chief Minister's office for the Government of the Virgin Islands and Chairman of the National Bank of the Virgin Islands.

Mr. Malone currently acts as Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Premier of the British Virgin Islands and is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner. He also provides directorship services to companies spanning various industry sectors including but not limited to telecommunications, oil, mining and financial services, and holds the following memberships:

  • Member of the American Bankruptcy Institute
  • Member of the Financial Services Advisory Committee

Mr. Malone acquired a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction from Pace University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also the author of "The Plan - Unlocking God's Financial Blessings for Your Life" and co-author of the New York Times best seller "Unbreakable Spirit - Rising Above the Impossible".
